Exotic Auto buys the Maserati MC20 and the MC20 Cielo from private owners nationwide and pays for them from Ewing, New Jersey. Late-model, under 40,000 miles, clean title, and one number with a pickup date in the driveway.
The MC20 is the first Maserati supercar in a decade. The Nettuno 3.0 twin-turbo V6, the carbon tub, the butterfly doors, and the retractable hard top on the Cielo. It is also a car with a short production history, a small live market, and a buyer pool that pays attention to the window sticker.
Here is what sets the number on an MC20, in the order it matters.
The exact car
MC20 coupe, MC20 Cielo, Fuoriserie specials, and the limited runs are each their own bands. The appraiser confirms the exact model, the model year, coupe or Cielo, and the special-edition tag if the car has one, before touching anything else. The original window sticker or the Maserati build sheet makes this one call instead of three.
Miles
Most MC20s on the market today still read low. The appraiser does not punish honest miles. A 7,000-mile car that has been driven and serviced is often an easier number to write than a 1,200-mile car with gaps in the file. Under 40,000 is where Exotic Auto buys. The band tightens as miles climb, and the appraiser will say where the number sits and why.
The Nettuno and the service file
The Nettuno V6 uses a pre-chamber ignition design that Maserati built in-house. Service at a Maserati dealer or a known specialist, with receipts, is the top of the band. The appraiser asks about the last annual service, the dual-clutch gearbox fluid service, the carbon-ceramic brake measurements on cars that have them, and any recall or software updates. A fault that was cleared and not fixed will come up on the next buyer’s inspection, so the appraiser asks about it on the first call.
Paint, bodywork, and the carbon
Every panel gets a paint-depth gauge. A front lip or hood respray from stone chips is normal and barely moves the number. A repainted door, quarter, or roof is a different conversation. The MC20 has exposed carbon fiber on several trim and aero pieces, and the carbon tub has carbon elements inside the cabin. Those get checked for clear-coat damage and prior repair. Paint protection film from new is a plus. A full wrap over an unknown finish is a question, not an answer.
Color and spec
Bianco Audace, Rosso Vincente, Blu Infinito, Giallo Genio, and the Fuoriserie custom colors carry a premium on the right car. So does the full carbon aero package, the exposed-carbon roof on the coupe, the carbon-ceramic brakes, the sport seats, the Sonus faber audio, and the forged wheels. On the Cielo, the retractable hard top and the electrochromic roof option move the number. The appraiser wants the Fuoriserie sheet or the full option list, not a guess.
The Carfax and the title
The appraiser pulls history on every car. A reported accident is not the end of the conversation, but it has to match what the paint gauge and the panels show. A tracked car with an honest file sells to a specific buyer. A tracked car with no file sells to a narrower one. A clean title is required. A loan or a lease buyout is fine. Exotic Auto gets the payoff letter from the lender, pays the lender directly, and pays the owner the difference.
How the sale works
1. Send the year, model, miles, color, and a few photos to the Exotic Auto page or call.
2. Exotic Auto returns a number built from live auction results, current private asks, and what the car retails for.
3. If it works, the paperwork goes out, the lender is paid if there is one, the owner is paid, and an enclosed truck comes to the driveway. The owner does not trailer the car anywhere.
Most MC20 sales close inside a week from the first message.
What Exotic Auto does not buy
Salvage or rebuilt titles. Cars with more than 40,000 miles. Cars with undisclosed accident repair. Older Maseratis outside the MC20 program are a different market and are handled separately.
